DELIVERY POLICY

Please note: BIRBA currently operates, sells and delivers to customers in South Africa only.

Delivery of goods are excluded from the retail price and are charged at the rates of our logistic and fulfilment partners. Delivery costs are subject to volume and area and will be confirmed via e-mail.

Purchases are processed within 2-3 days and manufacturing typically takes 4-6 weeks. Delivery date estimates will be communicated via e-mail or sms. Delivery dates quoted are estimates only and while every effort is made to ensure estimated dates are honoured, circumstances beyond BIRBA's control may cause delivery dates to be affected. Goods must be inspected on delivery and BIRBA notified immediately of any damage or imperfections.

Deliveries are only authorised once full payment has been received by BIRBA.

Please contact us should you wish to arrange delivery via your own means. Please note, should you arrange your own delivery, BIRBA will not accept liability for any damage or loss suffered during transit or delivery.

 

RETURNS & REFUND POLICY

Customers are asked to inspect their goods on arrival. Unless indicated on the proof of delivery or collection note it will be assumed goods have been accepted as being in good condition. If there is a factory defect or another issue, please arrange the return of the goods with the BIRBA Cape Town showroom within 7 days.

Reimbursements will be made via either bank transfer or transaction reversal. In the case of a reversed transaction, the relevant Banks dictate time frames for reversals, generally this should complete within 7 days. In the case of bank transfers, BIRBA will make the transfer within 7 days of the goods being returned.

 

PAYMENTS

BIRBA requires a minimum 50% deposit on all orders, with the balance payable once delivery is arranged. 

We accept payment via any of the following methods:

  1. EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer)
  2. Cash (Point of sale)
  3. Credit Card (via either our online store or point of sale)
  4. Snapscan (Point of sale)

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations should be requested telephonically and confirmed via email. A cancellation fee of up to 20% of the sale value will be charged should cancellation be requested prior to manufacture. Should cancellation be requested after manufacture has already commenced the full 50% deposit will be forfeited. 

 

PRODUCTION TIME

Manufacturing typically takes 4-6 weeks. Lead times stated are estimates only and while every effort is made to ensure estimated dates are honoured, unforeseen circumstances may cause delivery dates to be affected.

 

PRICES

Prices stated on either the website or showroom are subject to change, without prior notice. All prices are inclusive of VAT (Value Added Tax @ 14%).

 

CUSTOMER PRIVACY POLICY

BIRBA is committed to honour its customer's privacy and protect their personal information. Customer's personal information will never be shared with any 3rd parties.

 

GUARANTEES & WARRANTIES

Your invoice must be retained and is required for any guarantee policy to take effect. Guarantees and Warranties vary and will be null and void should the goods be tampered with, abused or used/stored outside the manufacturer's specifications.

 

PRODUCT FINISH AND LONGEVITY

By making a BIRBA purchase you accept that solid wood furniture has inherent characteristics such as knots, small bumps and cracks that are the natural attributes of the wood. Furthermore, you accept that solid wood furniture tends to naturally move or warp over time. 

BIRBA furniture is not suited for outdoor use. Furthermore, exposure to extreme temperatures or harsh conditions, including hours of direct sunlight is likely to adversely affect the furniture.
